Workforce Development Innovation Center

Central Ohio Technical College is determined to improve the skills of our workforce to increase Ohio's economic development and competitive edge. The WDIC fits neatly with COTC’s mission to meet the technical education and training needs of students and employers in the area.

This new unit is fully integrated with college’s academic division, providing:

  • Customized contract training (not-for-college credit)
  • Customized training for college credit - including review of previous training and life experience, for potential college credit
  • Cost-effective, innovative solutions to specific business challenges
  • Technical skills training (from multicraft to arc flash) to soft skills (leadership, communication skills and critical thinking)
  • Support for entrepreneurial needs
  • Developing stackable certificates that lead to degree completion

These courses may be offered at your business location, on our main or branch campuses, or at a designated third-party location.

Providing high school students and adult learners of all ages with academic and technical skills needed for career opportunities and continuous learning.

C-TEC’s 79 Seventy Manufacturing Certification Program, developed in partnership with 20 Licking County manufacturing firms, provides targeted training for a variety of manufacturing positions. This Licking County based, proactive workforce training and development is supplemented, by more than a dozen additional organizations in the Central Ohio region specializing in workforce training.
