In March 2023, Invenergy announced plans to invest more than $600 million through Illuminate USA to create one of the largest solar panel production facilities in the country. The investment included acquiring and building out a 1.1 million-square-foot building in the Pataskala Corporate Park.

In 2023, Licking County saw continued growth in manufacturing and distribution. With the location of several new companies and the expansion of existing companies, we expect to continue the momentum in 2024 while taking a look at recent trends.

Last month, GROW Licking County staff hosted the annual Investor Breakfast, providing updates on the organization’s current initiatives. The topics covered included business retention and expansion, business attraction, marketing, workforce development, infrastructure, and housing.

In recent years, many companies have faced challenges when it comes to attracting and retaining employees. GROW partners with other local organizations to promote and develop a strong workforce in Licking County.

Licking County’s manufacturing industry continues to grow. From 2017 to 2022, manufacturing jobs in Licking County grew by 12%. This growth is attributed to expansions of existing businesses and the siting of new manufacturing operations, bringing quality opportunities and higher-paying jobs to our local workforce.

On May 16th, GROW Licking County, Licking County Area Transportation Study (LCATS), and the Licking County Transportation Improvement District (TID) hosted the first annual Licking County Infrastructure Luncheon. This sold-out event featured presentations from planning and engineering experts on recent and ongoing studies that look to address current infrastructure needs while preparing for future growth.
