Licking County Cities

City of Heath

Located along the SR 79 corridor in central Licking County, the City of Heath is home to the county's principal commercial corridor, a wide range of housing options, and numerous industrial/manufacturing opportunities. These include Indian Mound Mall and the Boeing Company's facility at the Central Ohio Aerospace & Technology Center, just to name a few. City of Johnstown

City of Newark

The City of Newark is the county seat for Licking County, and with a population of just over 50,000, it is the county's largest city. Newark is the 2nd largest city in central Ohio and the 15th-largest city in Ohio. The historic square in downtown recently completed a massive redevelopment focusing on developing a mix of uses within the downtown area. City of Pataskala

With strong agricultural roots and close proximity to the state capital of Columbus, the dynamic city of Pataskala offers a small-town atmosphere with access to big-city amenities. Community attractions and events, along with abundant open space, all contribute to Pataskala’s rural charm. Just south of State Route 16, the city also boasts the Pataskala Corporate Park, a 520-acre development-ready site that is an ideal home for Central Ohio’s next manufacturer or corporate headquarters.

Licking County Townships

Etna Township

The economic development climate in Etna Township has changed dramatically over the last 20 years. The township continues to transition from a tax base nearly exclusive to agricultural business to a community with various businesses including agricultural, industrial, and commercial. There are a range of reasons why businesses continue to locate in Etna Township and those same reasons are why Etna is the perfect place for your business.

Granville Township

Granville Township is one of the few townships in Ohio to have passed Open Space levies to raise money to acquire title to developable property or to acquire the development rights to property with the plan to leave it as open space. The Township has two levies raising money to acquire open space and combines this money with general fund money to make property acquisitions.

Monroe Township

Located in NW Licking County, Monroe Township is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees. Originally settled in 1806, Monroe Township enjoys the services of the Mary E. Babcock Library. The T. J. Evans Bike Trail comes into the area from Newark via Granville and Alexandria. Monroe Township maintains 21.99 miles of roads. Fire protection and emergency medical service for the township are provided by the Monroe Township Fire Department, which also holds mutual aid agreements with surrounding departments.

Union Township

The largest township in Licking County, Union Township, is comprised of 21,035 acres and is located in the south-central section of the County. Union Township is home to the Village of Hebron, with a population of 2,138, located at the crossroads of State Route 79, or Hebron Road, and US 40, National Road. Also within Union Township is the Village of Buckeye Lake, which lies on the north side of the Lake in the southeast corner of the township. The current population of Buckeye Lake is 3,215.

Village of Granville

Located on State Route 161/US 16, the Village of Granville is a quaint, New England-style community in central Licking County along the western edge of the Appalachian plateau. With a robust downtown shopping district, a top-rated school district, and the beautiful Bryn Du Mansion available to support local activities, Granville has something for everyone!

Village of Hebron

With a population of approximately 2,500, the Village of Hebron is strategically located near Interstate 70 in south-central Licking County. The Village is home to Canal Park, a public space in the center of the village, home to covered pavilions and connections into Licking County's extensive trail system. Additionally, Hebron's proximity to the Buckeye Lake area and highly diversified industrial park, the village is an ideal location for many citizens to live, work, play, and invest in.
