Meet Amanda Spencer

Who are you?

Hull and Associates, LLC.

Where are you located?

We are located in the old Mound School Building on Grant Street along SR 79. We have 5 other offices throughout the state of Ohio and an office in Pittsburgh, PA.

What is it that your company/organization does?

We are an engineering and environmental consulting firm focused on infrastructure, energy, and the environment.

How do you impact economic development in our community?

Hull provides land surveying, civil engineering, and environmental services for development projects throughout Licking County. We have provided these services for many of the large industrial development projects located in Etna Township such as both the Amazon facilities, Kohl’s Distribution Center, the original Prologis and Southgate Corporate Parks, as well as some of the industrial facilities in the city of Heath along both James Parkway and Kaiser Drive. On these projects we typically provide full civil engineering of the site and we also provide civil engineering services for offsite public infrastructure improvements for the area. We also provide similar services for public agencies (local and state) through our other departments.

How long have you been with the company?

I started with the company in April 2012 when we were still Jobes Henderson and Associates and then we became part of Hull and Associates in November 2015.

What is your role with this company/organization?

I work in the Land Development department on private development projects. I manage mostly industrial development projects based on the current market, but I also work on multi-family and commercial projects too.

What did you do before your current position here?

I’ve only had two other jobs since I graduated from COTC. After I graduated, I worked for the Licking County Auditor’s Office for the summer as an intern and then I went to work for an engineering firm in Columbus, OH in their land development department. That was during the housing boom and I worked on mostly single-family residential development and then transitioned to the commercial department and worked on big box development.

What is your favorite part about this company/position?

My favorite thing about this company is that while we’re are part of a larger organization, there is still a closeness in our remote offices and friendships throughout that make coming to work fun.

Where do you see this company/organization in the future?

I really like where I am right now and the employees that I work with, and in the short-term future I see myself still here helping to grow Licking County and Central Ohio. Our company is in a strong growth mode and we will be expanding both regionally and nationally.

What has working with this company/organization taught you?

Beyond the technical knowledge that I’ve gained from the amazing engineers and technical staff that I’ve worked with; I’ve learned so much about management. I’ve learned what to do, and what not to do, and I’m doing my best to implement what I believe work in our culture here at Hull.
