Meet Joshua Filler

Who are you?

My name is Joshua Filler and I am the Manger of Engineering for the Electric Division at The Energy Cooperative.

Where are you located?

11339 Mount Vernon Rd. Utica, OH

What is it that your company/organization does?

The Energy Cooperative is an electric, natural gas and propane provider in Central Ohio.  Primarily in Licking, Knox and Muskingum Counties.

How do you impact economic development in our community?

As a utility, we engage with prospective and current companies that want to locate, or remain, in the area.  We strive to provide excellent member service and work creatively to provide members with options that work for everyone.  That could relate to the physical service, rates, etc.

How long have you been with the company?

7 years

What is your role with this company/organization?

Manager of Engineering, Electric Division

What did you do before your current position here?

Prior to working at The Energy Cooperative, I was a distribution system planning engineer for American Electric Power.

What is your favorite part about this company/position?

The Energy Cooperative is large enough to provide services to a large footprint and diverse membership base, yet small enough to still have that family feeling amongst the employees.  My favorite part about my job is that no two days are the same.  One day I could be working in a substation and the next be meeting with members or in a board room.

Where do you see this company/organization in the future?

The Energy Cooperative’s footprint sets in an area that is prime for growth.  I think The Energy Cooperative will continue to add to its membership base at a rapid pace over the next 5-10 years.  It will not, however, change our mission, vision and values that we pride ourselves on as a cooperative.

What has working with this company/organization taught you?

Working at The Energy Cooperative has taught me there are a lot of hard working and dedicated people in this area, both TEC employees and those within the community. It takes a lot of effort to make things come together for a community and I am astonished at the partnerships and collaboration that go on to make this area a great place to live and work.
